Summer is always sweet, but we had the best summer ever thanks to all of our Funky Divas & Dudes! This year, we held four weeks of summer camp at Joclyn Park in Santa Monica. Each day featured it’s own unique theme like “out of this world”, “emoji day”, “fashion disaster”, “pajama party”, “lost at sea”, “backwards day” and of course, “rockstar day”! Every week, we filled our days with new dance routines, fun funky crafts, relay races, scavenger hunts and lots of games.
Splashing the Days Away
Each week we would make our way to the beach twice. We surfed the waves, built sandcastles and caught sand crabs! We even came across a live starfish! Luckily, our lifeguard Steven knew exactly how to handle them and return them safely to their ocean home. These were always the campers favorite days.
The kids worked hard on making up fun commercials and fairytale theater. We even had campers all the way from China, Japan, and London! Boy did they have fun celebrating this summer in true California style! At the end of camp, all of the camper’s took home a Funky Divas & Dudes camp shirt and families were emailed an edited music video of the weeks highlights. Time flies when you’re having fun, and we can’t believe how fast summer flew by. A big thanks goes out to our wonderful camp counselors and to the city of Santa Monica for making our Kid’s Camp in Santa Monica such an amazing experience for all the Funky Divas & Dudes.
