Ella’s winter wonderland party was an absolute success and blast. Funky Divas & Dudes were thrilled to be back to celebrate her birthday for another year at her Los Angeles home. She’s been inviting the Funky Divas & Dudes crew to coordinate the entertainment for her L.A. birthday parties since her very first trip around our sun. That’s a whopping four years in a row! She is a true Funky Diva and we’ve loved watching her grow into a beautiful, sweet little girl.
Princess Ella’s Winter Wonderland
The theme and decor for this year’s party was inspired by Disney’s Frozen, so there was of course tons of glitter, silver and sparkles. Their yard looked absolutely incredible. They had a snow machine, “ice” dance floor (faux ice covering their pool) that looked like an ice skating rink, a cotton candy machine and giant cupcake penguin served as dessert. Yum! It snowed during the entire party, as we danced the day away.
Dressing the PartWe jump started the party with glitter cheek art as the guests arrived. Everyone got a snowflake, heart or star to go with their silver and gold sparkly hair color. This all went perfectly with Ella’s furry pink coat and silver sparkly skirt. Our instructors fully committed to the theme too, wearing skirts, jackets and even scarves; and of course, sparkles!Once everyone arrived, it was time to break out our dance moves. We love hosting dance parties! We taught a personalized dance routine to Taylor Swift’s, “Look What You Made Me Do”. These kids were true L.A. rockstars as they performed for their adoring fans- their moms and dads. As the party neared an end we closed things out with a game of rockstar freeze dance where the kids won some awesome giveaways to keep.Funky Divas & Dudes had a great time in Ella’s Winter Wonderland. It was great to get into the holiday spirit. After all, nothing says Christmas more than snow, even if it is being created by a machine.
- Elyse had the coolest 8 year old’s birthday bash! This little popstar invited the Funky Divas & Dudes to her birthday for the second year in a row, and we could not have been more excited to be a part of her rockstar festivities!
Rockin’ Out with ElyseHer Rockstar themed party had elements that even celebrities would envy. Every rockstar needs to be able to make an entrance. Elyse’s party delivered just that for her and her guests! Everyone entered the party on the red carpet and paused at the Funky Photo Booth and had images captured in front of the Funky Divas and Dudes Step and Repeat. Photo strips were printed from our Los Angeles Photo Booth for the rockin’ awesome party guests. Elyse’s Los Angeles home was transformed into a diva’s dream party venue. Thirty boys and girls attended and partied it up on the giant pink bounce house and dance floor that was set up under a tent on their lawn.
Dressing the PartFunky Divas & Dudes provided every element of this Los Angeles kid’s party. We started by helping each guest get in touch with their inner rockstar with some glitter cheek art and hair color as they arrived. Once everyone was feeling like a star we taught the party animals a personalized dance to DNCE’s Cake by the Ocean before whisking them away to wardrobe before their big performance. We dressed them up in awesome Rockstar apparel; funky sparkly tutu skirts, netted gloves, headset microphones, sequin hats, headbands, fluffy boa scarves, and colorful legwarmers. Then it was time for the kids to take to the stage and perform for their adoring fans, their parents. After their performance the kids rocked out freestyle on the dance floor to the rockin’ beats provided by Funky Divas & Dudes Los Angeles Party DJ, DeeJay. They had a ball doing the Limbo under a pink boa and forming a giant Conga Line around the pool. We brought the party to a close with some Rockin’ Dance Games with Giveaways; glitter microphones, maracas, tinsel wands & disco ball necklaces. Funky Divas & Dudes had such a great time as Elyse’s, Los Angeles Kids Dance Party Entertainment.
The Funky Divas and Dudes had a blast at Zoe’s 6th birthday party at Roxbury Park in Beverly Hills. Twenty-five boys and girls attended her 80’s themed Rockstar Party. This was Zoe’s second birthday in a row with us and we could not have been more excited to celebrate with this cool kid. Zoe is also a part of our after-school enrichment program where she learns hip-hop in the dance class we offer at her school. It’s easy to say, she has stolen our hearts over the years!
Zoe’s Rockstar Bash
We started off getting all the mini pop and rockstars decked out for the occasion with cheek art and hair color. The kids were not the only ones dressed up for the theme party. Parents came decked out too! There was no shortage of blue eye shadow or side ponytails. The birthday girl wore big sparkly lightning bolt earrings and all the kids sported 80s sunglasses and snap bracelets.
The next part of this Los Angeles dance party was for the Funky Divas and Dudes to teach a personalized dance routine for their big performance. These little Rockstars danced to “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper. They put on an impressive performance for their parents and ended with some Rockin’ Dance Games with giveaways to keep; glitter microphones, maracas, tinsel wands, and disco ball necklaces.
We absolutely adored seeing these kids let their inner rockstars shine. Don’t we all wish we could let loose with a child-like inhibition?
Check out this Rockin’ Birthday Party for Miss Kate! These parents went all out for their little girl and went with a Rockstar theme. The party was decorated in hot pink, gold, silver, and black. The rockin’ décor was provided by the LAPartyStylists. We started this party off with Glitter Cheek Art, Hair Color, Glitter Tattoos, and tons of fun props!
Personalized Props for the Popstars
As the guests arrived, they dressed up in funky sparkly tutu skirts, netted gloves, headset microphones, sequin hats, headbands, fluffy boa scarves, and colorful leg warmers because there’s no way their pictures could be taken without looking like complete rockstars! We took images at the Funky Photo Booth and these kids had a blast in front of the camera! These fun photo booth strips were printed out right away for the kids and parents to take home with them!
Each kid got to customize their own rock star look. It really showed off their individual personalities in front of the camera. While all of the parents visited with one another, the kids went to the back and were taught a rockstar dance routine. Later on, they performed it in front of everyone, and loved every second of it!
Memories to Last a Lifetime
We ended this birthday party playing Rockin’ Dance Games with giveaways to take home such as glitter microphones, maracas, tinsel wands and disco ball necklaces; This is what I would call a “goody bag” when I was a kid, but much better! This entire birthday party was so unique and it created memories that will be talked about for a lifetime.
- Funky Divas and Dudes is not just a party program. It is so much more to the youth of our community than a simple after school program. We encourage kids to get moving and aid in their physical and social enrichment. Working with the children of Redondo has shown us just how important the development of self esteem and social skills truly are.
Funky Divas and Dudes After School Enrichment Dance ClassWe have an extremely popular After School Enrichment Hip-Hop class at Washington School in Rodondo Beach, California. We started the program at Washington School in 2013 with only 6 (incredibly amazing) kiddos. Fast forward to 2017, and we are excited to report that we now have 2 sections, divided by age (Kindergarten- 1st grade and 2nd-5th grade) with just under 60 participants. Amazing, right?! Washington School parents are thrilled with Funky Divas & Dudes, and the PTA is a huge supporter of our dance class (so much so that the PTA president’s daughter is one of our participants.) The pride and trust the parents and community place in us truly touches our hearts and affirms our goals and desires to reach out to as many littles as possible through the power of dance. The program is 11 weeks of fitness and fun. During our fall session, each group will learn 3 age appropriate dance routines with their groups and one grand combined finale where all 59 students will be involved. Throughout this combined dance, both age groups will have feature bits and solos so our little stars can shine. Past routines have been performed to Bruno Mars’, “24K”, Pharrell’s, “Happy”, Fitz and the Tantrum’s, “HandClap “and Disney’s Moana, “How Far I’ll Go” and “You’re Welcome”, to name a few.
They Take the Stage and Steal the ShowFunky Divas and Dudes takes the kids and their performance to the next level by providing the mini rockstars with personalized costumes for their grand performance. I can’t begin to express the joy I feel as these kids take the stage and steal the show. Dance is a great confidence builder, not to mention a super fun way to exercise. Funky Divas & Dudes are thrilled to provide a fun way for kids to stay active and promote a positive self image.By learning dance routines in completion, and then performing it for an audience, children acquire the self confidence needed to help them grow. Funky Divas & Dude’s dance classes help children increase their self-esteem, gain better interactive social skills, improve their concentration, coordination, flexibility, strength, rhythmic ability and balance all the while having a fun, positive experience! They were welcomed like the stars they all are, walking down the pink carpet and past Barbie’s pink corvette before jumping into the Barbie Photo Box and personalized Barbie Step and Repeat. The Funky Divas got everyone styled for the event with Glitter Cheek Art and Hair Color as the guests arrived. Once everyone was there, Barbie, her pop star friends, and the Funky DeeJay with her Rockin’ Tunes (DJ services provided by FD&D) joined in for giant colorful parachute fun, dance games and a special surprise dance routine.

The kids then headed to wardrobe to transform for their Kids Rockstar Party, Los Angeles, debut. They picked out their favorite Rockstar clothes and accessories and then strutted their stuff in a fashion show before getting into formation to perform their surprise dance routine for the crowd of family and friends. Everyone had an amazing time dancing to the Divas and Dudes special choreography to Charlotte’s choice song, Justin Timberlake’s, “Can’t Stop the Feeling”. The crowd loved the surprise performance at her Kids Popstar Party. It was great to see everyone having such a great time!
After the performance ended to tumultuous applause, the party carried on with more dance games and fun giveaways for the children to keep; inflatable guitars, maracas, tinsel wands and disco ball necklaces that Funky Divas & Dudes brought for everyone. The cake, dessert table and some of the decor was done by M&J Kreations from Huntington Beach.
